BrievaAsk your meetings a question
Ask Brieva is a panel inside the app where you ask about your meetings in plain language and get an answer drawn from your own transcripts, summaries and calendar. Like everything else in Brieva, it runs on your Mac: the question, the search and the answer never leave it.

What you can ask
- “What were my action items from last week?”
- “How many meetings did I have with Alex in August?”
- “What did we decide about the launch date?”
- “What happened in yesterday’s project review?”
Questions about what was said pull from your transcripts and summaries. Questions about when and how often - counts, listings, “which meetings next week” - are answered from your calendar, and the counting is done by the app itself, so the numbers are exact rather than estimated.
Answers you can check
Every answer names the meetings it came from. Click a citation and that meeting opens, so you can read the transcript behind the answer yourself. When a question lands on a single meeting, Brieva gives you the full detail it has - the discussion points, decisions, action items and follow-ups from that meeting’s summary - with one link to the meeting itself. And when it cannot find anything that answers the question, it says so instead of improvising.
Ask a follow-up
The conversation carries your last few exchanges, so you can point at an earlier answer: ask for your meetings with someone, then “what were the action items from the second one?”. Small talk works too - ask “how can you help me?” and it will tell you.
Everything stays on your Mac
Ask Brieva is built on the same Local AI that writes your summaries. Your questions are not sent to a cloud service, logged on a server or used to train anything; there is no server involved at all. It works with Wi-Fi off. The How Local AI works page explains the approach.
What it knows, and what it does not
Ask Brieva knows exactly what your Brieva knows: the meetings on your calendar and the transcripts and summaries the app has produced. It does not read your email or files, and it does not search the web. An answer can only be as good as the transcript behind it, so a meeting you never transcribed can be counted and listed but not quoted. Questions and answers are in English.
Where to find it
The Ask Brieva button sits in the app’s header. The panel opens in the corner so you can keep working, or fills the window when you have a longer conversation - it remembers which you prefer.
